Tasting the new wine and eating roast chestnuts is well-loved tradition in South Tyrol.

But what means "törggelen"?

In October and November people enjoy the new wine along with a tradition meal of smoked meats, sausages, Kraut, dumplings or Speck, Kaminwurzen, and cheese. As desert you can try the roast chestnuts and the homemade doughnuts.
