Breitenberg

Breitenberg: situated just south of the Girlan Parish Church.
History: Georg von Partold built the house into its present day form around 1650. Georg’s father had been made an aristocrat in Innsbruck in 1609 and been given the title von Breitenberg, which was the name they gave to the house. It stayed in the hands of the family for many years, even though it was also passed down to the female members of the family, which caused for a change in the name of the owners. After Andrä Hörwarter, the house came into the hands of the family Gutsell who still own it today. Architectural style: before the renovation, Breitenberg was just living quarters and working quarters. The working quarters were extended into what is today the main house. The manor house has been kept in its original form. Peculiarities: the entrance gate has a typical stone frame. Outdoor steps lead up to the entrance from the inner courtyard; the loggia stands on a beautifully decorated arch. Double arched windows, domed square windows, wall paintings and a coat of arms relief are just some of the things to be found. Tip: look at the front of the house that blends into the street.
