Merano percussionist Phillip Lamprecht has a penchant for the very old and the very new. As a member of various ensembles, this exceptional musician also travels beyond the borders of Europe. At KulturKontakt Eppan, Lamprecht and his ensemble “Zeitgeflüster” (Carolin Ralser – flute, Maximiliano Girardi – saxophone, Luca Lavuri – piano, Philipp Lamprecht – percussion) will present a program featuring works by Ravel, Glass, and Demetz.

Mikhail Pletnëv is already a legend in his own lifetime. A musician who ranks alongside Martha Argerich, Grigory Sokolov, and András Schiff as one of the greatest musicians of our time. He enjoys cult status as a pianist, conductor, and composer. He is coming to Eppan with works by Bach, Grieg, and Robert Schumann's truly fantastic “Kreisleriana.” These piano fantasies are among the craziest and most magnificent ever composed for the piano. This year, the Mörl Scholarship was awarded to two young artists—Filip Senoner (bass tuba) and Gabriele Zandonati (marimba). An unusual combination of instruments, which is sure to bring a surprise or two to the concert. Senoner, from Val Gardena, is currently studying in Vienna, while Gabriele Zandonati, born in Sterzing, is still pursuing his studies in Bolzano.

South Tyrolean Peter Kofler studied first in Bolzano, then in Munich. He combines his long-standing work as organist at the Jesuit Church of St. Michael in downtown Munich with concert performances around the world. As an integral part of Munich's musical life, he has played with many orchestras and under conductors such as Mariss Janssons, Riccardo Muti, Simon Rattle, and Bernhard Haitink. In Eppan, he will play works from the Baroque and 20th centuries on a chest organ with three string colleagues.

The Trio Musicaè consists of three musicians who have known each other since their studies in Munich. After successful solo careers, they reunited a few years ago. Yamei Yu was concertmaster for Zubin Mehta at the Bavarian State Opera for many years; Tatjana Vassiljeva, currently principal cellist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, was promoted early on by Rostropovich; ECM musician Anna Gourari has been performing concerts worldwide since winning the Clara Schumann Competition and has also been director of the MUSICAÈ concert series in Munich for several years.

Ilva Eigus, born in Zurich in 2007, is one of the elite of the next generation of musicians. The fabulous violinist with Swiss-Latvian roots has already played at countless festivals from Verbier and Lucerne to Salzburg. Despite her young age, she has already been loaned a Stradivarius instrument. She is accompanied by jazz pianist Nik Bärtsch, one of the hottest musicians on the jazz and funk scene in Europe and beyond. The program includes works by Bach, Stravinsky, and Bärtsch.
