Halloween at Castle Gandegg

When the autumn wind swirls leaves through the air, stories emerge. Imaginative, eerie, funny—the main thing is to let your imagination run wild!

Amidst wind-blown autumn leaves—collected by artist Song Ming Ang and arranged within the castle—and the walk-in cavernous hideaways built in previous years by children (in collaboration with artist Ulrike Bernard and architect Claudia Aimar at the "Ideenspüle" in BASIS, Schlanders), the act of reading—both alone and aloud—creates a space for dreaming, wonder, and a touch of the eerie. Felix Kalaivanan, the current Writer in Residence at SAAV, also invites us into his stories. He prefers crafting dramatic texts: plays, screenplays, radio dramas, and any work that, through collective engagement, transforms into a living, experiential language.
