Windkraft - Band for new music
Experience an extraordinary musical event at “Winesounds 2025” with the inspiring concert “Folk Songs”. Immerse yourself in a sonorous journey through different cultures, presented by the unique works of Luciano Berio and Simone Spagnolo. Let yourself be enchanted by the fascinating soprano voice of Maria Eleonora Caminada, whose versatility and expressiveness form the heart of the concert. She will be accompanied by the exquisite Ensemble Windkraft, a renowned ensemble of top musicians comprising flute, clarinet, viola, cello, harp and two percussion instruments. Together they perfectly underline the colorful character of the international folk songs.
You can also look forward to Claude Debussy's masterpiece “Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune”, which perfectly complements the lively folk songs with its impressionistic sound painting. An evening full of musical colors, emotions and cultural diversity awaits you - don't miss this special concert experience!
The Ensemble Windkraft and conductor Johann Finatzer are looking forward to welcoming you to “Winesounds 2025 at Schloss Freudenstein” and experiencing an unforgettable evening together.

Founded in 1999 as a wind ensemble, Windkraft is dedicated to the production and performance of new music and is active across borders in North and South Tyrol. Windkraft thus builds on a tradition in a contemporary way, namely that of wind music, which is of great importance in Tyrol. The ensemble regularly performs at the major festivals for contemporary music in Italy and Austria as well as at numerous festivals throughout Europe, with a particular focus on performing new works by composers from the region. More than 100 composers have dedicated new compositions to the ensemble: these and many others have contributed to the creation of a chamber music repertoire that is among the most representative of contemporary music, not only Italian and Austrian.
This great commitment was honored with the 2017 award for “Contemporary Music” from the province of Tyrol. Since 2018, the ensemble has enjoyed an artistic residency at the Bolzano Festival of Contemporary Music thanks to its commitment and expertise in performing often complex scores that require extensive experience with new music.
