Mural design at the passageway to the Lanser parking lot

Artist Philipp Klammsteiner has teamed up with the JUMPER mobile youth work project in Eppan to launch a special awareness and prevention project.

We all feel it: constant availability and consumption of digital media harbour risks – loneliness, addiction and a lack of genuine interaction. With the motto “Real Connection without WiFi,” the Jumper project wants to send a clear message: real closeness and community arise where people meet—beyond the screens.

The designed wall is a visible sign in the middle of Eppan. It invites people to pause and reflect on how important lively, genuine contact is

About the project idea:

Artist Philipp Klammsteiner has teamed up with the JUMPER– mobile youth work project in Eppan to implement an impressive awareness-raising and prevention project:

The wall in the passageway to the Lanser car park has been transformed into a large canvas dedicated to the topic of digital media and its impact on our society. The murals creatively show how cell phones, platforms, and social networks shape our lives—and sometimes endanger them. "The wall is like a mirror: it shows how much we are surrounded by the digital world – and how it is changing the way we interact with each other," says graffiti artist and youth worker Philipp Klammsteiner.

The younger generation, which is growing up with digital media, is particularly susceptible to digital addictions, which manifest themselves in excessive media consumption, constant distraction, or the feeling of “always having to be online.” Studies warn of loneliness, lack of concentration, cyberbullying, and the loss of genuine social bonds. But adults are also affected by this development.

With the motto “Real Connection without WiFi,” the Jumper project wants to send a strong message: Real closeness comes from direct contact, not endless scrolling.

“The wall is not meant to accuse, but to encourage reflection,” says Jacopo di Vieste, project manager of the mobile youth work organization JUMPER. “We want the citizens of Eppan to pause as they walk by and ask themselves: When was the last time I had a real conversation without looking at my cell phone?” With this project, the youth and cultural center JUMP wants to show once again that prevention is more than just education - it thrives on visible signs in public spaces that touch young and old alike.
