The association "Pauls-Sakral" was founded in 2005. As early as 1998, sacred music concerts had already been organized in St. Pauls under the title "Evening Music in the 'Cathedral' in the Countryside" (*Abendmusik im Dom auf dem Lande*). Over the following years, these concert activities steadily evolved into an independent festival spanning the South Tyrolean Wine Road—reaching from Andrian, St. Pauls, Frangart, Girlan, and St. Michael in Eppan, through Kaltern, to Tramin, Auer, Neumarkt, and Pinzon. In addition to sacred concerts, the program includes symposia, masterclasses, and workshops.
A key aspect of the association’s work is its close collaboration with the municipalities and parishes of the various performance venues. Complementing the region’s numerous secular cultural offerings, Pauls-Sakral focuses specifically on sacred music. The association’s goal is to introduce audiences—those with a keen interest in culture—to the diverse landscape of organs and the unique ecclesiastical spaces found along the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Through concerts held in these various sacred buildings, visitors are invited to experience a distinctive interplay of light, spatial atmosphere, acoustics, and spirituality.
