Orchestral Concert: Mahler’s Ninth with the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra

The highlight of this year’s residency by the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra (BLJO) in Eppan is Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 in D major—one of the most demanding works in the symphonic repertoire, tackled here by around 100 young musicians aged 13 to 20. Conducting the ensemble is Ustina Dubitsky, who herself emerged from the ranks of the BLJO as a violinist. Following her conducting studies in Weimar and Zurich, she won the Orchestra Prize at the "La Maestra" competition in Paris in 2022 and has since worked regularly with the Orchestre de Paris and the Dresden Philharmonic.

The concert marks the conclusion of the Eppan residency and offers a rare opportunity to experience a work of this magnitude within the focused atmosphere of the St. Michael Cultural Hall. Tickets are available at the box office starting at 7:30 p.m.
