With a lot of wine feeling

Lively, harmonious, powerful - to stay in wine jargon: that's how it feels, the new entity that brings together wine producers, sparkling wine producers and distilleries under the umbrella brand Eppan Wein.

Certainly, it is still young, this special compilation. But in South Tyrol's largest wine-growing region, the time was ripe. 17 small and large producers are now united under the umbrella brand Eppan Wein with the aim of fully developing their potential. Although they all have their own handwriting in the production of their products, they are united in their efforts to get the best out of themselves, the soil, the grapes and the wine. This is the only way to create top-quality products.

One roof, one goal, one unit

The producers have been striving for a common line, an umbrella brand, for 10 years now. However, bringing the interests of the small as well as the large wineries and producers under a common hat posed an enormous challenge - the realities, the positioning and orientation of the individual businesses seemed too different. Until the realisation matured that a special strength and symbolic power would emerge from the cooperation, that with Eppan Wein a meaningful and uniform appearance would emerge for the largest wine-growing region in South Tyrol with its countless top products - a real wine unity, in other words.

One logo, one brand, one feeling

The joint appearance is achieved with a coherent logo that expresses the "we" feeling. "We are here, we are strong, we are one in Eppan," is how Erika Call, who was appointed chairwoman of Eppan Wein, describes it.
The umbrella brand is now home to small, fine family businesses with a manageable production of 2,500 bottles a year as well as large community wineries whose production exceeds 1.8 million bottles a year. Eppan Wein shows its face through its own website, brochures and events.

One shoulder, one conviction

But that is not all. "Of great importance for Eppan Wine is now the closing of ranks with the gastronomy and the merchants," Erika Call explains that the common endeavour goes beyond the actual union of the 17 producers. "We have top gastronomy in Eppan. Their attitude towards the common cause, the design of the wine lists, makes it possible to give special importance to the products of Eppan," says Call knowing that gastronomy and commerce are indispensable parts of a successful cycle. The wine shops and wine stores in the village must therefore also be convinced of the concept and support the umbrella brand.


One place, one terroir, one diversity

In a place where viticulture has been practised for 2000 years, a new era is now beginning - based on the best preconditions through an extraordinary commitment and a unique terroir. More than 20 different grape varieties thrive on 941 hectares of vineyards - led by Pinot Blanc. The choice of historical, autochthonous as well as international varieties is based on local conditions, knowledge gathered over centuries and meets the highest demands. It is not for nothing that the wine-growing community of Eppan produces top-quality products every year. And now successfully presents itself under one roof as Eppan Wein.
